We are a volunteer-run organisation, supported by many others who contribute behind the scenes, including some working remotely from other countries. We aim to be transparent in how we operate—both with the public and internally. Some team members are only available a few hours per week, while others contribute more time. As a result, communication can occasionally break down, leading to missed or duplicated information. We are continuously working to improve our internal coordination.

We use advanced software to record detailed information about our animals—their movements, diets, medical records, appointments, and associated costs. It also supports us in managing grant applications and meeting regulatory requirements. While we do our best to accommodate special donor requests, our systems or limited resources may not always allow for it.

There have been instances where funds were left at the shelter, fundraising outlets, with volunteers, or at vet clinics—earmarked for a specific purpose—without our treasury team being informed until much later. To avoid this, we ask donors to always request a receipt that clearly reflects their donation’s purpose.

Many donors prefer to remain anonymous, and we fully respect that. However, if a donation is intended for a specific cause, please ensure the Accounts team is informed so it can be allocated appropriately.
